Future — “I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into His abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14, TPT)

Many stumble not because of the future but because of their past. We get distracted because we’ve chained our minds to our failures instead of focusing on our future! There are biblical examples that teach us that looking back keep us from our future. Take Lot’s wife, for example. (Genesis  19:17) She was told not look back, and when she did she turned into a pillar of salt. She ended up frozen in her past.

Jesus asks us, “Why do you keep looking backward to your past and have second thoughts about following Me? When you turn back you are useless to God’s Kingdom realm.”  (Luke 9:62, TPT) Keeping our eyes on our past keeps us from fulfilling the plan Daddy God has for us.

Forgetting the past will open the door to the Kingdom of Daddy God being established in our lives. Let’s keep our eyes focused on the future!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, help us break free from the chains of our past that keep us from stepping into the future You have prepared for us. Give us Paul's compelling focus that forgets what lies behind and reaches forward to what lies ahead. Holy Spirit, help us run with passion into Your abundance and discover the purpose Jesus has called us to fulfill. Free us from backward thinking and keep our hearts fastened to the future You have planned. In Jesus' name, Amen.

• I decree that I am not a prisoner of my past but a pioneer of my future!

• I decree that I run with passion into God's abundance and His divine purpose for my life!

• I decree that my heart is fastened to the future, not frozen in yesterday!

• I decree that I am useful to God's Kingdom because I keep my focus forward!

• I decree that I will reach the heavenly goal and gain the victory-prize through Christ's anointing!
