Hand — “Praise the Lord, the God of our ancestors, who made the king want to beautify the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem! And praise Him for demonstrating such unfailing love to me by honoring me before the king, his council, and all his mighty nobles! I felt encouraged because the gracious hand of the Lord my God was on me. And I gathered some of the leaders of Israel to return with me to Jerusalem. (Ezra 7:27-28, NLT)

Ezra had the privilege of leading some of the exiled people back to Jerusalem to continue the restoration of the Temple. Verse 10 tells us why: “This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.”

He accomplished a lot with the hand of the Lord guiding him. How much more can you and I accomplish with Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit coming upon us to guide us — and not just upon us like in the days of old, but literally living inside us now that the Holy Spirit has come?!

The prayer in Psalm 43:3 says, “Give me Your lantern and compass, give me a map, So I can find my way to the sacred mountain, to the place of Your presence.” (MSG) This could be a type of prayer Ezra prayed? Perhaps. It’s most definitely a prayer for us to live by so we may lead those who are away from the presence of Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit!

We might not be restoring a physical temple, but we are certainly restoring a spiritual one which is desperately today!

Today’s Decrees:

🔥 I decree that a generation of Ezras is rising — people who determine to study, obey, and teach the Word of God, carrying His presence not just upon them but within them!

🔥 I decree that the spiritual temples of this generation are being restored — hearts, homes, and communities returning to the genuine presence of Daddy God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit!

🔥 I decree that those who are exiled from the presence of God, wherever they physically reside, are being led home by believers who carry the lantern, the compass, and the map of Holy Spirit within them!

🔥 I decree that the Renaissance People are accomplishing more than Ezra ever imagined, because what rested upon him now dwells permanently within us!

Let’s Pray:

Daddy God, thank You that Your hand is not simply upon us for a season, but that Your Spirit dwells within us for a lifetime. Like Ezra, help us to determine first to study and obey Your Word before we ever attempt to teach or lead others. Give us the lantern, the compass, and the map of Your presence, so that we can find our way to the sacred place where You dwell, and lead others there with us. Show us who around us is exiled from Your presence, even in the midst of ordinary life, and give us the courage and the love to lead them home. Restore the spiritual temples of this generation, Lord, just as Ezra restored the physical one in his. In Jesus' name, Amen.
