Impart — “I yearn to come and be face-to-face with you and get to know you. For I long to impart to you the gift of the Spirit that will empower you to stand strong in your faith. Now, this means that when we come together and are side by side, something wonderful will be released. We can expect to be co-encouraged and co-comforted by each other’s faith! (Romans 8:11-12 TPT)
Paul not only wanted to impart to the Romans, but he also knew they had something for him. Later, Paul told Timothy to stir up the gift imparted by the laying on of hands. (2Tim. 1:6) This is why we are encouraged not to forsake gathering together. (Heb.10:25) We’ve been told this means going to church. That’s may part of it, but it’s more about community than attendance. By isolating ourselves, we can become deceived and get trapped in all kinds of weird stuff!
“Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. (Ecc. 4:9-10,NKJV)
“You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.” (Prov. 27:17 MSG) Often, just our presence with others encourages them. We can be used by the Lord to help them recognize their own gifting! We have some something to impart into others, and them to us — each helping the other to stir up their gifts.
Let’s not be found alone on our journey of life!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us understand the beautiful exchange that happens when believers come together. Give us Paul's heart to both impart and receive spiritual gifts from one another. Break us free from isolation and deception by connecting us with genuine community. Help us recognize that we have something valuable to give and that we need what others carry. Stir up the gifts within us through fellowship and the laying on of hands. Make us iron that sharpens iron in the lives of others. In Jesus' name, Ame
Today’s Declarations:
I will not forsake the gathering together or live in spiritual isolation! I have something valuable to impart to others, and they have gifts to impart to me. When we come together side by side, something wonderful is released. I choose to be co-encouraged and co-comforted by others' faith while strengthening them with mine. I will be iron that sharpens iron, helping others recognize their gifts while allowing them to sharpen me. Two are better than one, and I refuse to journey through life alone!
I decree that I am called to impart spiritual gifts and receive from others!
I decree that something wonderful is released when I gather with believers!
I decree that I have something valuable to give to my spiritual community!
I decree that iron sharpens iron through my authentic friendships!
I decree that isolation and deception have no place in my life!
I decree that I will help others discover and stir up their spiritual gifts!
Be a Blessing,
Sir Gregory
