Living Stones — “So keep coming to Him who is the Living Stone— though He was rejected and discarded by men but chosen by God and is priceless in God’s sight. Come and be His “living stones” who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. For now you serve as holy priests, offering up spiritual sacrifices that He readily accepts through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:4-5, The Passion Translation)

We read in Psalms and in Matthew that Jesus became the stone that was rejected. This wasn’t just any stone. It was the corner stone — the load bearing stone that the building relies on to stay erect. He isn’t only the capstone at the top, He is the foundation. Now as followers of Jesus, we have become living stones that He has built His Kingdom upon.

We also read that some buildings and altars were built with stones that had never been touched by mankind’s tools. They were to be used how they were created. We are to be like these stones formed by the Word of God, not formed by mankind’s traditions or the ways of this world.

Let’s build a Kingdom of living stones that the Father would be proud to call His own!

Lets Pray:

Daddy God! Thank You that Jesus, though rejected by men, became the cornerstone that holds everything together. Help us keep coming to Him as the Living Stone and allow ourselves to be assembled into Your sanctuary as living stones. We don't want to be shaped by the tools and traditions of this world, but formed by Your Word alone. Holy Spirit, make us into the kind of living stones that build a Kingdom You would be proud to call Your own. Help us serve as holy priests, offering spiritual sacrifices that You readily accept through Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today’s Declaration:

I am a living stone, continually being assembled into God's sanctuary. I refuse to be shaped by human tools, traditions, or worldly systems. Instead, I allow God's Word to form me according to His original design. I serve as a holy priest, offering spiritual sacrifices that God readily accepts through Jesus Christ. I will help build a Kingdom of living stones that the Father is proud to call His own.
